Dhaka, 16 June 2026: On the occasion of Chartered Secretary Day 2026, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) observed a day-long programme today. Sixteen years ago on this day, the Chartered Secretaries Act, 2010 was enacted, through which the Chartered Secretary profession in Bangladesh received formal recognition and an institutional framework. 

To mark the day, founding members, members, students of ICSB, corporate professionals, and other stakeholders took part in the programme. They highlighted the role of Chartered Secretaries in establishing corporate governance, ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting ethical business practices, and supporting sustainable institutional development. 

In the morning, a vibrant rally started from Bangladesh National Museum and, after reaching the ICSB premises in Banglamotor, the official celebration of the day began with various programmes and festivity. 

In the evening, the second phase of the event started with an official cake-cutting session. The welcome speech at the event was delivered by Mr. Mohammad Shahjahan FCS, Council Member of ICSB. 

President of ICSB Mr. Hossain Sadat FCS highlighted the Institute’s journey of growth and progress. He also paid tribute to the contributions of the Institute’s former leaders and expressed his sincere gratitude for their invaluable contribution in its development and achievements. He also emphasized about technological advancement, sustainability and invited members to carry out CS profession to the stakeholders.

Professionals from leading corporate organizations across the country, distinguished Chartered Secretaries, students, and eminent corporate executives celebrated the day, highlighting the growing significance of the Chartered Secretary profession in Bangladesh’s corporate and economic landscape. On the occasion, both senior and young members of the Institute shared their memories and experiences. They highlighted ICSB’s journey, and its successes over the years, and they expressed hope for its continued progress. 

In the concluding remark, Mr. Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun FCS, Council Member and Chairman, Organizing Committee for Celebration of Chartered Secretary Day 2026 expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to all attendees and everyone associated with this event. The celebration event was jointly moderated by Mr. Nayamul Hoque FCS and Ms. Israt Jahan Rimi FCS.
