In Bangladesh, there is only one recognized secretarial professional body which is Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB). Generally, Governance is an intrinsic part of what all organizations do. It provides the framework of standards for accountability and decision-making and maintains the focus of the Board of Directors and the Management team in delivering them.

As such, the CS program specializes in Company Law & Practice, Company Secretarial Practice, Corporate Administration, Direct & Indirect Taxation, Corporate Governance, Corporate Secretaryship, Accounting, Securities Laws & Capital Market and Secretarial Auditing etc. ICSB is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Commerce, the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
