Muzaffar Ahmed FCMA, FCS

1997-2004

Muzaffar Allmed FCS, is a known personality in the corporate arena of the country and a successful professional. Mr. Ahmed is the founder president of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Managers of Bangladesh (ICSMB). From 1997 as President and Council Member he pioneered the Institute up to 2004.

Mr. Ahmed also served the Institute of Cost Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) for 18 years as Director, Council Member; Treasurer, Secretary and Vice President, and lastly he was elected as the President of that institute for the year 1999. He represented ICMAB in many national and international seminars and conferences.

Starting his career as lecturer in the Department of Accounting in Chittagong University in 1974. Mr. Ahmed served many national and international organizations in senior positions. ln his professional career. Mr. Ahmed is the Founder of the Credit Rating Information and Services Limited (CRISL) and presently serving as its President and Chief Executive Officer. CRISL is the first ever multinational rating· agency established in Bangladesh with the sponsorship and technical assistance of Rating Agency Malaysia Berhad (RAM) the premier rating agency of Malaysia and JCR-VIS Credit Rating Agency of Pakistan. As the President  & CEO of CRISL, Mr. Ahmed has the privilege of looking at various sectors of national economy closely.

The financial Mirror rewarded Mr. Ahmed for his outstanding contribution towards Institutional Development in the Financial Sector of the country for the year 2004. Mr. Ahmed has many of, publications and has attended many Conferences and seminars both at home and abroad and presented a number of technical paper as Resource Person.

Muqtadir FCS

A. K. A. Muqtadir FCS

The dawn of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Managers of Bangladesh was heralded in 1997 by a group of cutting-edge professionals, one of whom was A. K. A. Muqtadir. He was the founding Vice President of the Institute. Subsequently he persisted as Senior Vice President for many years and finally the President of the Institute. He has a checkered career of over 32 years in corporate management mostly in Multinational Companies such as Phillips and SABINCO.

As a maverick writer, Muqtadir has authored three vintage books, two of which have emerged as management classics for the profession of Company Secretaries. He has presented technical management papers at various forums home and abroad.

Mohammad Sanaullah

Mohammad Sanaullah FIPM, FCS

The immediate Past President (2010-2013), Past President (2005-2006) of the Institute, Past President (2006-2007) of the International Federation of Company Secretaries (IFCS), Past Councilor Corporate Secretaries International Association (CSIA) and Former Director (2010-2013), Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM), Mohammad Sanaullah FCS is the Corporate Affairs Director (Board Member) and Company Secretary of Singer Bangladesh Limited. He has over 32 years’ exposures in MNC, in Business, Corporate Management and Governance.

He is the Vice President, Intellectual Property Association of Bangladesh (IPAB). Fellow Member Institute of Personnel Management (IPM) and Member, Institute of Internal Auditors, USA. Also, he is a Life Member of the Accounting Alumni the University of Dhaka. He is one of the Fellow and Founder Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB).

Sanaullah holds B. Com (Hon’s), M. Com in Accounting from University of Dhaka. He also obtained MBA in Marketing and Post Graduate Diploma in Personal Management. Sanaullah is one of the specialist in Company Secretarial Practice & Corporate Governance in Bangladesh. His Contributions towards the development of the profession of Chartered Secretaries in Bangladesh is remarkable.

He has contributed several papers and articles in professional journals and addressed various workshops, seminars and conferences both at home and abroad.

Mohammad Asad Ullah LL.M, FCS

[2006-2010] [2013-2016]

Mr. Mohammad Asad Ullah, FCS has been serving as Executive Director-Corporate Affairs and Group Company Secretary of all the Companies of Beximco Group since 1998. Since his joining in 1991 in the Corporate Headquarters of Beximco Group, Asad Ullah had been worked as Deputy Group Company Secretary. Before joining in Corporate Headquarters, he worked in Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in various responsible positions since 3 July 1985.

He did his Graduation and professional degree in Law (LL.B.) from the Dhaka University. He obtained LL.M. and also MBA major in Human Resource Management. He is the Fellow Member of ICSB.

Having being elected as President of the Institute for 3 Terms: 2006-2007, 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 he had performed the responsibilities with the best satisfaction and successfully represent the Institute in national and international level. Under his dynamic leadership, relentless efforts and constant persuasions with the highest level of Government for long 11 years the “Chartered Secretaries Act 2010” was passed in the Jatio Sangshad of Bangladesh on 7th June 2010 and created a milestone in the history of Chartered Secretaries Profession in Bangladesh, which brought the Institute as Statutory Body under an Act of Parliament. For such outstanding performance and contributions towards the development of Chartered Secretaries Profession in Bangladesh he was only one Member of the Institute who awarded a Gold Medal by the Institute in 2010. Prior elected as President of the Institute in 2006 he performed the responsibilities as Treasurer, Vice-President and Senior Vice-President.

On 7 September 2013 the Members of the Institute elected him as Council Member with highest votes. The Council of the Institute in its meeting held on 12 September 2013 unanimously elected him as its President for the term 2013-2016.

He was the Member of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) established under the direct supervision and control of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission(BSEC) for the terms 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 and played a pioneering role for its establishment. He is currently the Member of the Board of BICM. He is also the active Member of numbers of professional organizations of the country.

During the long tenure of services with BEXIMCO, he participated in various professional seminars, workshops and training courses in Bangladesh as well as in the UK, USA, Pakistan, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan and Australia.

He carries vast experience in the areas of Professional Management and Corporate Legal Affairs.
