President of ICSB Mohammad Asad Ullah FCS met Tofail Ahmed MP, Hon’ble Commerce Minister
Mohammad Asad Ullah FCS, President of Institute of Charted Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) along with the Secretary and Additional Director (Finance) of the Institute met Hon’ble Commerce Minister of GoB Tofail Ahmed, MP at his Chamber on March 22, 2016 and discussed matters related to mutual interest. The President of the Institute updated the Hon’ble Commerce Minister about the recent Corporate Governance Excellence Award and future development initiatives taken by the Council of the Institute. He thanked the Hon’ble Minister for his gracious presence as Chief Guest at the 5th National Convention of ICSB held on December 05, 2014 at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC), Dhaka. The President of the Institute also informed the Hon’ble Minister about the Institute activities being practiced through professional degree of Chartered Secretary along with Training and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes for developing skills of the Company Secretary Professionals with a view to creating skilled manpower for the emerging job market in corporate sector.
He further informed the Hon’ble Minister that the Institute under the administrative control of Ministry of Commerce (MoC) is functioning at an expensive rented office space with limited logistics support and cannot cope with increasing number of students. He further mentioned that ICSB is trying to have a plot from RAJUK for its own academic complex. The President sought Hon’ble Commerce Minister’s support on this to impress upon Hon’ble Works Minister for considering a plot for ICSB at any RAJUK project. Hon’ble Commerce Minister appreciated the role of ICSB and readily agreed to extend support to ICSB accordingly.
The President of the Institute thanked the Hon’ble Minister for his great gesture of support and cooperation.
